ARRIVAL
By car
The Black Forest Lodge is especially convenient for those arriving by car: From federal road B500 – exit “Am Sommerberg” – it is only about 500 meters to your destination. It is best to enter our address into your navigation system to calculate the fastest route.
By train
From Freiburg main station, you can take a regional train that stops at Altglashütten-Falkau.
No shuttle service
Please note that the Black Forest Lodge does not have its own vehicle. Therefore, we cannot offer a shuttle service to or from the bus stop. We recommend booking a vehicle in advance with a local taxi company.
By plane
Freiburg can be reached from major national and international airports. In addition to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (AirportBus), there are fast ICE train connections from the airports in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Zurich.
PARKING
The Black Forest Lodge offers sufficient parking spaces directly below the building. For a fee of €12 per night, it is also possible to rent a space in our garage.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATION
The Black Forest Lodge has 2 charging stations for electric cars in front of the building.
BICYCLES
You are welcome to arrive with your bicycle. You can store it in our ski cellar, where you can also charge your e-bike batteries.
RECEPTION HOURS
Our accommodations are lovingly furnished holiday apartments where you can feel completely at home.
Please note: Check-in is personally handled by our staff so that you can settle in comfortably and receive all important information. However, there is not always someone on site during your stay.
If you have any questions or need assistance, we are of course available by phone.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
We can guarantee that your room will be ready from 4:00 PM.
If you plan to arrive late in the evening, please inform us so we can prepare a self check-in for you.
On the day of departure, your apartment is available until 10:00 AM. We kindly ask you to place used dishes in the dishwasher and start it before leaving. Please dispose of your waste in one of our waste rooms. The waste room for Apartment House No. 28 is located directly to the left of the entrance in the wooden enclosure. The waste room for Studio House No. 26 is located to the right near the garages.
If the reception is unattended, you can leave the key to your apartment in the basket on the glass table in the entrance area.
LUGGAGE STORAGE
We are happy to store your luggage at the reception if your room is not yet ready.
Please contact our reception staff for assistance.
DELIVERIES
If you would like to have something sent to us, this is of course possible. Your shipment will be received at reception and stored for you.
ACCESSIBILITY
Our property offers various studios/apartments that are barrier-free and designed accordingly.
If needed, please inform our staff of your specific requirements when making your reservation so we can book a suitable unit for you.
Due to building regulations, a platform lift has been installed in Apartment House No. 28. Please follow the usage instructions.
DOGS
Dogs are very welcome at the Black Forest Lodge. We charge a fee of €15 per animal per night for the additional cleaning effort.
CHILDREN
Children are welcome at our property. Please note that they must be registered, and the room rate will be adjusted accordingly. For a small fee, an extra bed can be provided in the apartment or studio.
WIFI
Free Wi-Fi is available at the Black Forest Lodge.
Access details can be found in your apartment/studio or requested at reception.
HOCHSCHWARZWALD CARD
Your stay includes the digital Hochschwarzwald Card. After check-in, you will receive a link via email with all instructions for downloading and using the card. Please note that this is a service provided by Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH.
SMOKING
Please note that smoking is not permitted in any indoor areas of the Black Forest Lodge. Kindly use the outdoor areas or your balcony/terrace for smoking.
APARTMENTS / STUDIOS
AMENITIES
All 29 of our modern and comfortable apartments/studios are equipped with Wi-Fi, a TV, a hairdryer, a telephone, as well as bathrobes and towels.
Our “start-your-day” breakfast package, along with fresh bread rolls delivered daily, is included in the apartment/studio price. Use of the fitness area, pool, and both saunas is also included in the room rate.
ROOM CLEANING
Please note that there will be no additional cleaning or replacement of towels and bathrobes during your stay.
If you would like additional cleaning or fresh towels, please indicate this at the time of booking.
For a studio/apartment for up to 2 persons, an additional cleaning costs €20.00; for 3 or more persons, €30.00 will be charged.
LAUNDRY
The Black Forest Lodge has two laundry rooms equipped with washing machines, dryers, and ironing facilities.
EXTRA BEDS / BABY COTS
An extra bed can be booked for an additional €40 per night, and a baby/child’s cot for €20 per night. Please specify this when making your reservation.
HIGH CHAIRS
High chairs for children are available upon request.
ROOFTOP TERRACE
Above the pool area, you will find a rooftop terrace with sun loungers. Access is available via the sauna area in the apartment building or through the corridor between the pool and the studio building, next to the textile sauna.
SKI STORAGE
A large ski storage room is located in the basement of the Black Forest Lodge, where you can store your equipment.
FIREPLACE
Our Deluxe Apartment, Maisonette Apartments, and Spa Studio feature a fireplace in the living room. For all other guests who would like to enjoy a cozy evening by the fire, there is a large fireplace in the common lounge of the studio building.

Upon arrival, you will find a carefully selected assortment of breakfast items in your apartment.

In addition, we deliver 2 bread rolls per person to your apartment door every morning.

POOL AND FITNESS
BATHROBES / TOWELS
Bathrobes and towels are provided in your apartment/studio. If you need anything additional, please feel free to contact our staff.
Please note that both bathrobes and towels remain the property of the Black Forest Lodge and are provided to you for the duration of your stay.
FITNESS
Our fitness room is available to guests from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Please note that children under 16 are not allowed to use the fitness room without adult supervision.
POOL
Our indoor pool offers plenty of space for swimming laps or simply relaxing. In the evening, the pool is especially inviting with its ambient lighting.
The pool is available for use at all times.
Use of the pool is free of charge for our guests.
SAUNA
At the Black Forest Lodge, you will find both a textile sauna and a textile-free sauna.
These can be used free of charge by guests from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Please note that children are not permitted in the textile-free area.
