Philosophy & history

Focus on nature and sustainability

The Black Forest Lodge emerged from an old clinic that stood empty for a few years before the Gessler family (Hotel Schloss Reinach) bought it.

The family invested two million euros in the renovation of the beautifully located property. Eleven light-flooded holiday apartments were created in the Black Forest for 2 to 8 people each. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. The guest areas include a relaxation area with sauna and flood shower, a small house library, a ski room with a ski boot dryer wall, a bicycle storage room and two washrooms with washing machines, dryers, irons and ironing boards. Parking spaces and individual garages are also available.

The greatest strength of the Black Forest Lodge is certainly its location: You are immediately in the fresh air and can do sports in the boundless nature.

Nature and sustainability were also the focus of the building concept, which originated from the Oberrieder architect Wolfgang Schweizer. Natural materials from the region, energy-efficient construction and an ecologically sensible embedding in the environment were the focus of the renovation. Accordingly, the Black Forest Lodge combines local woods, stone and, above all, a lot of glass, which invites you to a magnificent view.

The Black Forest Lodge - our small contribution to strengthening the Black Forest as one of the most important holiday regions in Germany; and the proof that an extraordinary vacation is possible without a long flight.
