The Black Forest Lodge as part of the Gessler Collection was created from an old clinic and the house of the Badischer Turner-Bund on the southern slope of the Feldberg. (The Gessler Collection includes the Black Forest Lodge, the Hotel Schloss Reinach in Freiburg and the Hotel Stadt Lörrach).
The Gessler family of hoteliers invested almost 9 million euros in the conversion of the beautifully situated properties. The result is 28 light-flooded vacation apartments and studios in the Black Forest for 1 to 9 people each. Each apartment and studio has a fully equipped kitchen. The guest areas include a relaxation area with infinity pool, sauna and splash shower, a fitness room, a small in-house library, a ski room with ski boot drying wall, a bicycle storage room and two laundry rooms with washing machines, dryers, irons and ironing boards. Parking spaces and individual garages are also available.
The Black Forest impresses not least with its exceptional location: fantastic views over the surrounding forests and valleys, you are immediately out in the fresh air and can enjoy the boundless nature.
Nature and sustainability were also the focus of the building concept, which originated from the Oberrieder architect Wolfgang Schweizer. Natural materials from the region, energy-efficient construction and an ecologically sensible embedding in the environment were the focus of the renovation. Accordingly, the Black Forest Lodge combines local woods, stone and, above all, a lot of glass, which invites you to a magnificent view.
