Freundlicher Empfangsbereich der Black Forest Lodge

History

The buildings of the Black Forest Lodge previously served as a clinic. Before the Gessler family (Hotel Schloss Reinach) bought the estate, they had been vacant for several years.

The family invested two million Euro for the conversion of this beautifully situated estate. Eleven holiday apartments in the Black Forest were created – all flooded with light. They accommodate from 2 up to 8 guests. Every apartment boasts a fully equipped kitchen. The guest areas include a relaxation area with sauna and surge shower, a small private library, a ski room with wall-mounted ski boot dryer, a bicycle storage room as well as two laundry rooms with washing machines, driers and ironing equipment. Parking spaces and single garages are at your disposal as well.

The biggest advantage of the Black Forest Lodge probably is its location: You can breathe in the fresh air just by stepping out of the door, and there is limitless nature around you for your sporting activities.

Nature and sustainability were key elements of the construction concept developed by architect Wolfgang Schweizer from Oberried. Natural materials from the Black Forest, energy efficiency and an ecologically harmonious embedding of the building in its environment were in the centre of the reconstruction. Accordingly, the Black Forest Lodge was built using local wood, stone and above all an abundance of glass, which allows for spectacular views.

The Black Forest Lodge – it’s our contribution to promote the Black Forest into becoming one of the most important holiday regions in Germany. It’s also a proof that it is possible to have an extraordinary holiday without a long flight.
